Massive Devotion Displayed in Pune: Over 1.25 Lakh Belpatra Offered to Lord Shiva at Sanjay Park Ganesh Mandir
Pune, July 29, 2025 – In a remarkable display of devotion and unity, more than 1.25 lakh belpatra (Bilva leaves) were offered to Lord Shiva at the Sanjay Park Ganesh Mandir in Viman Nagar. The special religious event was organized by the Mahesh family youth group to mark the holy month of Shravan.
The spiritual day began early at 7 AM, with 32 couples performing a ritualistic Shivling Abhishek (ceremonial bath) both at the temple and with personal Shivlingas brought from their homes. The Abhishek was performed with full Vedic rituals and mantra chanting.
Throughout the day, devotees chanted “Om Namah Shivaya” while offering individual belpatras, culminating in a total of 1.25 lakh leaves offered by the time of the evening aarti at 7 PM. The event not only reflected deep spiritual fervor but also highlighted the unity and organizational strength of the participating community.

Organizers stated that such events foster religious awareness among youth, strengthen family bonds, and serve as a symbol of collective devotion.
The event witnessed participation from over 300 devotees and received widespread appreciation from attendees from Kharadi, Yerwada, Baner, and Kalyani Nagar. The success of the event was credited to the dedicated efforts of team members including Anup Baheti, Vishal Laddha, Ashish Bang, Sumit Mundra, Anurag Padia, Rashmi Rathi, Kishore Bang, and others, supported by trustees of the Ganesh Mandir like Prabhakar Sawant, Shrimant Nandanwan, and Mukhedkar.
