Pune, August 9, 2025 – Under the Chief Minister’s Solar Agriculture Feeder Scheme 2.0, solar power projects with a total capacity of 1,083 MW are underway in Pune district, being executed by seven companies (agencies). These companies have been directed to speed up work and commission the projects within the stipulated time frame, failing which they will be blacklisted for the next five years, warned Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department, Abha Shukla. She issued this warning during a ‘Task Force’ meeting held at the Pune District Collector’s office on Friday (August 8).

The Chief Minister’s Solar Agriculture Feeder Scheme 2.0, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, aims to provide daytime electricity to farmers across the state. Through this scheme, Maharashtra will generate 16,000 MW of electricity, with Pune district alone expected to generate 1,083 MW through 131 sub-stations. To implement this ambitious project, a district-level Task Force has been formed. On Friday, Shukla and Lokesh Chandra, Chairman and Managing Director of MSEDCL, reviewed progress in the presence of Additional District Collector Suhas Mapari, MSEDCL Directors Yogesh Gadkari and Rajendra Pawar, Regional Director Bhujang Khandare, and heads of various departments.

Work orders for the 1,083 MW capacity were issued to seven companies a year and a half ago. Of these, Avada Company has completed projects totaling 36 MW, while several others are nearing completion. Many projects are expected to be finished by September 2025. However, some companies have been working at a very slow pace. Shukla warned that if they fail to accelerate progress, action will be taken against them as per tender provisions, including blacklisting.

MSEDCL’s sub-divisional engineers have been appointed as nodal officers for the scheme. They are tasked with coordinating land acquisition for the projects and resolving any related issues. Shukla also instructed the Revenue, Police, Forest, and Public Works departments to work in coordination to clear any hurdles in the execution of these projects.
