In Pune’s Kharadi area, a shocking incident came to light where a young couple risked their lives by sitting on the roof of a moving car, engaging in stunts and romantic poses in the middle of the road. The incident took place late at night on a main road, and a video of it has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread criticism and demands for strict police action.
According to reports, while the car was moving straight along the road, the man and woman were seated on the rooftop, posing romantically. This distracted other motorists passing by. The short clip was captured on a mobile phone and spread rapidly online within hours. Netizens condemned the act, calling it reckless and dangerous, stating, “This not only endangers their own lives but also the safety of others.”

Under the law, performing stunts in public places, on roads, or in restricted areas is a punishable offence and can lead to fines or imprisonment. If such stunts cause injury to others, criminal charges can also be filed. The incident has reignited discussions on traffic rule compliance, road safety, and the growing trend of risking lives for social media content.
This is not the first such case in Pune. A few days earlier, in Shindewadi near Khed Shivapur, a young woman was seen sitting backwards on the petrol tank of a moving motorcycle while the rider continued driving. Videos of the scene showed passersby filming the couple, but they remained unfazed and carried on. That clip also went viral, with some calling it obscene and others labeling it dangerous driving.
