Good News! HSRP Installation Deadline Extended. Read More Here
Pune, August 14, 2025: The deadline for installing High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) has been extended once again, with the new date set for November 30, 2025.
The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has warned that from December 1, 2025, strict action will be taken against vehicles without HSRP.
HSRP has been made mandatory across the state to enhance vehicle security and ensure proper identification. However, many vehicle owners are yet to comply with the rule. Citing widespread non-compliance and certain technical difficulties, the government has decided to provide this extension.
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district alone, more than 7 lakh vehicle owners have not registered for HSRP so far. This marks the fourth extension, and officials have clarified that no further relaxation will be given after November 30.
Starting December 1, 2025, the RTO will initiate a special enforcement drive under the Motor Vehicles Act, imposing fines on violators.
