Pune: 28-Year-Old Man Killed In Scooter-Tempo Crash Near Katraj Chowk

Katraj, Pune, August 15, 2025: A fatal road accident occurred near Katraj Chowk on Friday morning, claiming the life of a 28-year-old man after his scooter collided with a tempo.

The incident took place at around 8:45 a.m. under the jurisdiction of Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station. The deceased, identified as Mohammad Iqbal Pathan, a resident of Rajesh Society in Katraj, was riding his Wego scooter (MH 12 HW 7105) when it crashed into a tempo (MH 12 YB 2625). Pathan sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.

Senior Police Inspector Rahil Khilare confirmed that the tempo driver, Amol Vasant Bhargude (44), a resident of Datta Nagar, has been detained. His medical examination has been completed, while Pathan’s body has been sent to Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem.
