Pimpri, August 22, 2025: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced a complete ban on the installation of swings, merry-go-rounds, trampolines, inflatable houses, and various amusement rides in open spaces, gardens, playgrounds, and reserved plots under its jurisdiction.

Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh issued directives to all relevant departments and regional offices to ensure that no such equipment is installed without permission and to prevent unauthorized use of these public spaces.

PCMC grounds and reserved plots are often rented out for festivals, exhibitions, and various events where such amusement rides are installed to attract more visitors, including children. However, incidents of equipment malfunction and accidents have raised serious safety concerns, with the potential for injuries or even fatalities.
