Solapur–Mumbai Flight To Begin In September; Ticket Bookings To Open During Ganeshotsav

The long-awaited Solapur–Mumbai flight service is finally set to take off this September. According to senior officials, ticket bookings for the service will begin during the Ganeshotsav festival, while the first flight is expected to operate in the first fortnight of September.
For several years, citizens, traders, entrepreneurs, and public representatives from Solapur have been demanding direct air connectivity to Mumbai. Now, with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) granting permission to Star Air and a formal agreement signed with the Maharashtra Airport Authority, the long-pending demand is close to becoming reality.
District Collector Kumar Aashirwad confirmed that the agreement has paved the way for early commencement. The flight is expected to give a significant boost to Solapur’s industrial, commercial, tourism, and educational growth, while also improving business ties with Mumbai.
Earlier in June this year, the Solapur–Goa flight service was launched and has received an encouraging response from passengers, particularly from Vijayapura, Dharashiv, Latur, and Solapur districts, who now find it easier to travel to Goa. Authorities are confident that the new Mumbai service will be equally beneficial.
With bookings set to open during Ganeshotsav and the first flight expected by mid-September, the Solapur–Mumbai air route is set to become a major convenience for both business and leisure travelers.
