Pune, August 24, 2025: A freshers’ party at Kiki Pune in The Mills, near Pune railway station, was halted on Saturday night after the Maharashtra State Excise Department found that liquor was being served to underage students. The raid was triggered by a complaint from activists of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s (MNS) student wing.

Officials said the event, which began around 5 pm on August 23, was attended by hundreds of college students. The pub allegedly allowed entry to students between 17 and 21 years of age without checking ID cards or recording details.

Following the tip-off, a team led by Excise Officer Jagdale and Officer Wagh reached the venue and suspended the party. Action against the pub management and event organizers continued until 2 am.

Meanwhile, members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena (MNVS) staged a protest outside the pub, calling such events “addiction traps.” City MNS president Dhananjay Dalvi, along with other leaders including Abhishek Thite, Vikrant Bhilare, Parikshit Shirole, and Hemant Bolge, warned pubs not to serve alcohol to underage students. They also threatened that any future violations would be met with strong protests and “demolition of the bar.”
