Mumbai On High Alert After Threat Of 34 Human Bombs And 400 kg RDX During Ganesh Visarjan
Mumbai, September 5: The Mumbai Police have stepped up security across the city after the Traffic Control Room received a bomb threat on its official WhatsApp number. The message, allegedly sent by a group identifying itself as ‘Lashkar-e-Jihadi’, claimed that 34 human bombs have been planted in vehicles across Mumbai and threatened a massive explosion involving 400 kilograms of RDX during the Ganesh Visarjan processions on Anant Chaturdashi.
According to police officials, the threat message also alleged that 14 Pakistani terrorists have entered India to execute the attack. The sender claimed affiliation with a Pakistan-based terror outfit, raising concerns over the credibility of the warning.
“Mumbai Traffic Police received a threat stating that 34 ‘human bombs’ have been placed in 34 vehicles and the explosion will shake the entire city,” police confirmed.
In response, the Mumbai Police have launched an intensive investigation and increased security deployment at sensitive locations. “All angles of the threat are being probed, and additional security measures have been implemented across Maharashtra,” officials said.
Authorities are treating the message with utmost seriousness as the city prepares for large crowds during the Ganesh Visarjan festival.
