Maharashtra Govt Transfers ₹1,892 Crore To Over 91 Lakh Farmers Under Namo Shetkari Scheme
Mumbai, September 10, 2025: The Maharashtra government has released the 7th installment of the Namo Shetkari MahaSanman Nidhi Yojana, transferring ₹1,892.61 crore directly into the accounts of 91.65 lakh farmers. The distribution took place at Mantralaya in the presence of Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, along with cabinet members.
The scheme, modeled on the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, provides additional support to cultivators. While the Central scheme grants ₹6,000 annually, the state contributes another ₹6,000, ensuring each eligible farmer receives ₹12,000 every year.
In this installment, benefits for April to July 2025 were credited. Farmers already enrolled in the Central scheme automatically qualify for the state’s support. The aid comes at a crucial time when unseasonal rainfall has disrupted agricultural activities.
Since its launch, the Maharashtra government has disbursed six installments worth ₹11,130.45 crore to 93.09 lakh farmers across the state. With the seventh installment, cumulative support continues to strengthen farm families and ease cultivation costs.
Officials stated that both the Central and State initiatives reaffirm their joint commitment to farmer welfare and sustainable agriculture.
