AFMC Pune Concludes Tri-Services Inter-Academy Debate And Quiz “Sameeksha Jigyasa 2025”
Pune, 16 September 2025 – The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune proudly concluded the Tri-Services Inter-Academy Debate and Quiz Competition – “Sameeksha Jigyasa 2025”, held from 15th to 16th September. Over the course of two days, the finest cadets from 6 premier military academies of the nation came together in a spirited celebration of intellect, camaraderie, and competitive excellence.
The event brought together teams from the National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla; Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala; Air Force Academy, Dundigal; College of Military Engineering, Pune; Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, Mhow; and the Armed Forces Medical Collegeshowcasing not only their knowledge and eloquence but also the esprit de corps that defines the Armed Forces.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Lieutenant General AK Ramesh, SM, Commandant, College of Military Engineering, Pune, whose words of encouragement left an indelible impression on the young cadets. Addressing the forum, General Ramesh emphasized that clarity of thought, intellectual resilience, and moral conviction are the key attributes of a good soldier and congratulated the participants and their mentors for their exemplary participation .

The event witnessed invigorating debates under Sameeksha, where cadets eloquently grappled with issues of contemporary geopolitical and strategic importance, displaying sharp analysis and exceptional articulation.
The inter academy Quiz competition Jigyasathemed on the Second World Warchallenged participants with intricate rounds of strategy, history, and tactical acumen, bringing alive the lessons of the past for the leaders of tomorrow.Quizmaster was Col Sameer Gupta (Retd), an eminent onco-surgeon and a widely acclaimed academician, whose erudition and engaging style added depth and distinction to the event.
The distinguished panel of judges included Lt Gen Noble Thamburaj, PVSM,SM (Retd), Maj Gen Ramesh Kaushik, SM (Retd) andCol R S Bhatia (Retd). The event was also graced by Lt Gen Pankaj P Rao, Director& Commandant, AFMC& Colonel Commandant, AMCand Maj Gen Atul Seth, VSM, Dean & Deputy Commandant, AFMC.
The Team AFMC, Pune(MedCdtAyush Kumar Singh&Med Cdt Sambhav Singh) emerged as champions of the Debate Competition, while the Air Force Academy, Dundigal (Flt Cdt Sameeksha Joshi & Flt Cdt Dev Rohil) secured the second position. Med CdtSambhav Singh from AFMC was adjudged the best speaker and Flt CdtSamiksha Joshi as the 2nd Best speaker.
In the Quiz segment, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala(MID Ayush Bhoria & Cadet Ayush Shetty)claimed top honors, with Team AFMC, Pune(Med CdtPriyanshu Mahar and Med Cdt Uday Tej Singh)finishing as runners-up.
The event was not merely a competition but also a fellowship of future officers, strengthened through moments of camaraderie, shared reflections, and the collective spirit of military brotherhood.
As the curtains fell on “Sameeksha Jigyasa 2025,” AFMC reaffirmed its proud tradition of nurturing the young minds to serve the nation and the Armed Forces and be the leaders of tomorrow.
