Pune: PMRDA Commissioner Reviews Ring Road Land Acquisition Progress
Pimpri, September 17, 2025: Dr. Yogesh Mhase, Metropolitan Commissioner of PMRDA, reviewed the ongoing land acquisition process for the proposed Ring Road. He directed the administrative machinery to expedite the procedure and immediately forward proposals to the District Collector’s office for acquisition and land measurement across phases one, two, three, and four.
The Ring Road project is considered a key step toward reducing traffic congestion in Pune city and surrounding areas. Alongside this, several road widening initiatives are also underway.
Currently, the acquisition process for Phase 1, covering three villages from Solu to Nirgudi, is in its final stage. Dr. Mhase instructed officials to organize urgent meetings with affected farmers to facilitate the transfer of FSI/TDR benefits.
He also sought updates on land acquisition for the proposed road aimed at easing traffic in Hinjawadi and Chakan, as well as measures planned for traffic management near Navale Bridge, which include land acquisition, water pipeline shifting, and installation of signal systems. Departments concerned were instructed to ensure coordinated efforts and complete the work by October.
The meeting was attended by Additional Metropolitan Commissioner Deepak Singla, Additional Police Commissioner, Pune Manoj Patil, Avinash Patil (Director, Development Permission & Planning Department), Himmat Kharade (Deputy Commissioner, Land & Property Department), Asha Jadhav (Superintendent, Land Records Department), Shivprasad Bagdi (Superintending Engineer), land acquisition coordination officers, and senior officials from PMC, NHAI, PWD, and National Highways.
