Railway Protection Force (RPF), Pune Division, successfully carried out a major operation under “Operation Satark” at Pune Railway Station, leading to the seizure of unaccounted cash worth ₹51,00,000/- (Rupees Fifty-One Lakh only) from a suspicious passenger.

During baggage screening duty at the Main FOB near PRS side, MSF Security Guard Krishna Dilip Bhange detected bundles of currency notes in the bag of a passenger. On being questioned, the person attempted to flee. The alert security staff immediately informed on-duty Shift In-charges ASI Pradeep Chaudhary, ASI Santosh Jaybhaye, ASI Vilas Darade, and ASI/MSF Santosh Pawar, who swiftly apprehended the suspect along with two bags.

The person was brought to RPF Thana, Pune, and identified himself as Fardeenkhan Jafarulla Khan Mogal (24 years), resident of Mogalvas, Warwada village, Mehsana district, Gujarat. He could not provide any satisfactory explanation for carrying the large amount of cash.

On checking the bags in the presence of officials from the Income Tax Department, Pune, the following was recovered:

Bag 1 (Purple): Approx. ₹22,00,000/- (₹500, ₹200, and ₹100 denomination bundles)

Bag 2 (Red): Approx. ₹29,00,000/- (₹500 denomination bundles)

Total Cash Seized: ₹51,00,000/-

The suspect along with the seized cash was formally handed over to the Income Tax Department, Pune, for further investigation and legal action.

This operation under “Operation Satark” once again highlights the vigilance and dedication of RPF Pune in ensuring security, preventing unlawful activities, and upholding transparency in railway premises.
