PMC Allocates Eight Parking Plots For Hinjewadi–Shivajinagar Pune Metro Line 3
Pune, September 25, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved the allocation of eight amenity spaces for parking along the under-construction Pune Metro Line 3, which will connect Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar. The move is expected to ease commuter convenience once the 23-km route becomes operational.
Officials confirmed that PMC has allotted a total of 13,051 sq m of land across eight sites, while two additional spaces will be developed in the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) area. Following a survey conducted last year on PMRDA’s request, the spaces were identified near key Metro stations.
Three of the designated parking sites are located in Balewadi—close to Balewadi Stadium–Food Hub station (300 metres), NICMAR–Amar Tech Park station (250 metres) and Ramnagar, opposite K Square Living (400 metres). In total, five spaces will be in Balewadi and three in Baner, all within 100–400 metres of the respective stations.
Dinkar Gojare, head of PMC’s project department, stated, “In total, PMC will provide eight plots for Metro parking. The estate and management department is finalising the list and will transfer the land to PMRDA after the commissioner’s approval.”
So far, parking land has been secured only at three of Metro Line 3’s 23 stations—Maan, Balewadi, and Shivajinagar. With PMC’s allocation, facilities will also be arranged for Balewadi Stadium, NICMAR, Ramnagar, Laxmi Nagar, Balewadi Phata, Baner Gaon, and Baner stations.
Metro Line 3, being developed by Tata Group’s Trill Urban Transport Pvt Ltd (TUTPL) and Siemens, is nearly 45% complete. However, delays in land acquisition have pushed its expected completion to March 2026.
