Pune: Man Arrested In Wanawadi With 810 Grams Of Ganja Worth ₹16,200
Pune, September 27, 2025: Acting on a tip-off, the Wanawadi Police Crime Branch apprehended a man in possession of ganja and other valuables worth over ₹80,000.
On September 23, while patrolling the Wanwadi police station limits, officials received intelligence that a man on a black Hero Splendor motorcycle was waiting suspiciously near the bridge on the road from Ganga Satellite Society to Netajinagar, carrying a suspicious bag.
A trap was laid, and when the suspect attempted to flee, he was caught on the spot. He was identified as Taufiq Razak Shaikh (26), a resident of Kondhwa Khurd, Pune.
Police seized 810 grams of ganja valued at ₹16,200, along with the two-wheeler, a mobile handset, and cash, bringing the total seized items to ₹80,100. A case has been registered under NDPS Act Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(A) at Wanwadi Police Station.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior police officers, including Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajkumar Shinde, and Assistant Commissioner Dhanyakumar Godse. The team was led by Senior PI Vijaykumar Doke, API Umakant Mahadik, and other staff members.
