A shocking incident has rocked Dombivli West, where a 21-year-old student, Rishikesh Parab, ended his life by jumping from the 11th floor of Sudama building on Friday, September 27. Preliminary investigations suggest that the extreme step was linked to a love affair dispute.
According to reports, Rishikesh, a student of Vande Mataram College, had been in a distressed state since the morning. Witnesses said he sat in the fire duct of the building from around 8 am. Local residents alerted the authorities, and by 11:46 am, the fire brigade had been called to the scene.
For nearly half an hour, firefighters and police officials tried to rescue and persuade him. However, despite their presence and efforts, Rishikesh leapt at around 12 noon, leading to his death.
Police sources revealed that he was reportedly upset following a quarrel with his girlfriend. Anger and emotional distress are believed to have triggered his drastic decision. The Vishnunagar police have conducted a panchnama and launched further investigations into the case.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the Dombivli community, raising serious concerns about growing emotional stress among the youth. Authorities have once again highlighted the need for awareness and counselling support to prevent such heartbreaking losses.
