Mumbai, September 29, 2025 – After days of heavy downpour that disrupted agriculture and rural life across Maharashtra, the state witnessed clear skies and reduced rainfall on September 29. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall intensity is likely to decrease further on September 30, though some districts may still experience thunderstorms and showers.

In the Konkan region, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts may receive moderate rainfall, while Mumbai and Thane are expected to get light to moderate showers.

In Western Maharashtra, light to moderate rain is predicted in Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur districts, with moderate rainfall expected over the ghat areas. Authorities have urged farmers and commuters in these regions to remain alert to weather changes.

In Marathwada, districts including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Latur, and Dharashiv may see light to moderate rain. Nanded, however, has been placed under a yellow alert due to the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds. Farmers have been advised to safeguard their crops and livestock.

In North Maharashtra, light to moderate showers are expected in Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, Ahilyanagar, and the Nashik ghat region. No specific alert has been issued for these districts.

Meanwhile, in Vidarbha, districts including Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, and Washim are unlikely to receive rainfall. Clear skies with sunny or partly cloudy weather are expected.

Overall, while rainfall will be less intense across Maharashtra on September 30, isolated districts may still witness thunderstorms. The IMD has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, stay indoors during lightning, and farmers to secure agricultural produce and cattle.
