Pune Divisional Commissioner Urges Graduates And Teachers To Register In Voter Lists
Pune, September 30, 2025: The programme for preparing fresh electoral rolls (de-novo) for the Pune Division Graduates’ and Teachers’ constituencies has been announced, with November 1, 2025 set as the qualifying date. Voter registration has already begun, and Divisional Commissioner Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar has appealed to all eligible graduates and teachers to ensure their names are enrolled in the lists.
Speaking at a press conference at the Vidhan Bhavan, Dr. Pulkundwar, who is also the Electoral Registration Officer for the constituencies, explained the registration schedule. He emphasized that even those already registered in 2020 must apply afresh. Graduates are required to fill Form 18 and teachers must submit Form 19.
For graduates, eligibility requires a degree (or equivalent qualification) obtained at least three years before November 1, 2025, from a university notified by the Election Commission of India. Heads of government and semi-government offices have been instructed to register all eligible graduate employees.
For teachers, eligibility applies to full-time teachers in recognized secondary schools or higher, who have served for at least three years between 2019 and 2025. Heads of educational institutions can collectively submit applications on behalf of staff along with the required certification (Form 2).
Applications will not be accepted in bulk through political parties, booth-level agents, or civic organizations. However, family members may submit applications for their household together.
The Chief Electoral Officer’s office is also developing an online registration system, details of which will be announced soon. For the programme’s execution, 63 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, 584 designated officers, and 122 additional officers have been appointed across five districts — Pune, Solapur, Satara, Kolhapur, and Sangli.
