Viral Post: "I'm tired now, ....."; Young man quits job worth Rs 14 lakh in just 9 days for Peace of Mind
Post goes viral as decision sparks debate over job stability and career choices
In a surprising turn of events, a young man resigned from a job worth Rs 14 lakh annual package within just nine days of joining. His candid post about the decision has gone viral on social media, drawing wide attention and sparking debates about job stability, mental health, and career priorities.
The young man shared that after four months of unemployment and facing several rejections, he finally secured a DevOps position at a small startup with around 80 employees. Initially relieved, he soon decided to move on when he received an offer from one of the UK’s top multinational banks.
“I find it strange that I gave my notice in just nine days, but considering the struggles I faced during my unemployment, I don’t want to miss this opportunity. To be honest, I’m tired now. I’ve given at least 30 interviews. Now I need peace of mind, and this job can give me that,” he wrote in his post, adding that he plans to stay at the new company for at least one and a half to two years.
His decision has triggered mixed reactions online. Some users backed his move, emphasizing that multinational corporations often offer greater stability and better career growth. “MNCs are always more stable than startups. A brand name is good for a career,” one user commented. Others echoed his concerns about work culture, with another writing, “My last three startups had a very bad culture.”
The viral post has highlighted a growing sentiment among young professionals—balancing career opportunities with mental peace and long-term stability.
