Big Aadhaar Update! From Oct 1, Fees Hiked — But Kids Under 5 Get Free Biometric Updates
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced an updated fee structure for Aadhaar-related services, which will come into effect from October 1, 2025, and remain applicable until September 30, 2028. A further revision has also been planned from October 1, 2028, to September 30, 2031.
As reported by the Economic Times, these changes are part of UIDAI’s ongoing efforts to enhance service efficiency and reduce delays in biometric updates, especially for children.

As per details also reported by the Economic Times, UIDAI has revised the pricing for home-based Aadhaar enrolment and update services:
The standard charge for home enrolment is ₹700 (including GST), in addition to any regular update fees
If more than one resident at the same address opts for this service:
The first person pays ₹700
Every additional person pays ₹350
Key Points to Remember
Aadhaar services that were earlier priced at ₹50 will increase to ₹75 from October 2025, and further to ₹90 in 2028
Services priced at ₹100 will go up to ₹125 in 2025, and then to ₹150 in 2028
UIDAI continues to offer free biometric updates for specific age groups to reduce the pending Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) backlog
Residents can save costs by updating PoA/PoI documents through the myAadhaar portal, especially before June 14, 2026
