Pune: Police Officer Attacked With Sickle On Law College Road, Two Assailants Flee After Midnight Assault
Pune, October 6, 2025: In a shocking incident that has raised serious questions about law and order in Pune, a police officer from the Crime Branch was brutally attacked by two unidentified men near Law College Road around midnight on Saturday.
According to reports, Police Officer Amol Katkar, attached to Crime Branch Unit 3, was returning home after duty when two men on a motorcycle allegedly intercepted his vehicle.
An argument ensued, during which the assailants attacked Katkar with a sickle, striking him on the head.
The injured officer was immediately rushed to Sahyadri Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment for serious injuries.
The sudden and violent nature of the attack created panic in the area. Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage to trace the attackers.
