Pune: Kondhwa Residents Raise Alarm Over Massive Dumping Behind Kumar Sansar Society, Seek Urgent PMC Action
Pune, October 6, 2025: Residents of Kumar Sansar Society in Kondhwa, near Parge Nagar, have expressed serious concern over large-scale dumping that has been taking place behind their residential complex for several years. The accumulated debris has now piled up to nearly the height of three floors, posing a severe threat to both the structural safety of the society’s compound wall and the health and security of its residents.
Despite multiple complaints to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Health and Sanitation Department, residents allege that no effective action has been taken so far.
The unchecked dumping continues to grow, turning the area into an eyesore and potential environmental hazard.
Residents claim that the mounds of waste and debris are not only damaging the boundary walls but are also contributing to serious air pollution, particularly during dry and windy conditions. The situation has led to growing frustration among the residents, who fear that a collapse of the retaining wall could endanger lives and property.
The residents have urged the PMC to immediately clear and level the dumped material and take strict action against those responsible for the illegal dumping. They have also requested regular monitoring of the site to prevent recurrence, emphasizing that swift municipal intervention is essential to safeguard both public health and community infrastructure in the area.
