MakeMyTrip has announced a major partnership with Google Cloud to take its AI-driven travel assistant Myra to the next level. This collaboration is focused on transforming the way users plan their trips by leveraging some of Google’s most powerful AI technologies, including Gemini, Vertex AI, and Google Maps.

At the heart of this partnership is a shared goal—making travel planning more intuitive, personalised, and stress-free for users. With Myra’s upgraded capabilities, travellers can now experience smarter planning that adapts to individual preferences, budgets, and travel goals. Unlike traditional chatbot-based systems, this new version of Myra will tap into real-time data, maps, reviews, and AI-generated insights to offer a more accurate and efficient planning process.

One of the standout features of the enhanced Myra is its ability to support destination discovery based on the traveller’s mood or intent—be it adventure, romance, wellness, tranquillity, or even pilgrimage. By integrating Google’s Nearby Search, Maps, Places API, and grounding in Google Search and Google Maps, Myra can now suggest destinations more intelligently, offering key insights into local weather conditions, food, popular attractions, and transport options.

The platform has also been upgraded with custom AI models developed by MakeMyTrip, working alongside Google’s Gemini family, lightweight models like Gemma, and generative tools such as Imagen and Veo. This combination helps users build customised itineraries that suit their trip duration, spending limits, and interests. Visualisation tools powered by image and video generation allow users to get a clear, engaging preview of their planned travel experience.

Another significant addition is the introduction of multimodal communication, where users can interact with Myra through text, voice, images, and video. This feature is designed to make the planning process more engaging and inclusive. With the integration of Google’s language capabilities, Myra now also supports voice assistance in multiple Indian languages, ensuring a more seamless and relatable user experience.

Speaking on the development, Rajesh Magow, Co-founder and Group CEO of MakeMyTrip, said, “Planning and booking travel has become increasingly complex, with travellers expecting more choice, faster service, and experiences tailored to their unique preferences and constraints. Our goal has always been to remove that complexity and make every step of travel simple, personal, and stress-free for all Indians, regardless of destination or budget. Our partnership with Google Cloud allows us access to AI capabilities that will let us innovate faster, personalise at scale, and introduce new features that keep improving over time so we can deliver delightful journeys for our millions of customers.”

The partnership officially announced, combines MakeMyTrip’s deep expertise in travel with the strength of Google Cloud’s AI stack, creating a more intelligent, user-centric platform.
