Pune, October 15, 2025 – The Marathi film Manache Shlok, directed by Mrunmayee Deshpande, had recently landed in controversy over its title.

Several Hindu organizations, including the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, objected to the film’s name, arguing that it disrespected spiritual sentiments as “Manache Shlok” is also the title of a revered book written by Samarth Ramdas Swami.

Protesters had warned that the movie would not be allowed to release unless the title was changed. Following this opposition, the film’s release, initially scheduled for October 10, was postponed. The makers have now officially changed the title to Tu Bol Na. The film is set to release across Maharashtra on October 16, 2025, under its new name.

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti stated that “Manache Shlok” represents spiritual discipline and devotion, and it should not be used for commercial or entertainment purposes.
