Pune: Wanowrie Resident Deepak Sharma Wins Two Gold Medals At Asian Bench Press Championship 2025 in Hong Kong
Pune, October 17, 2025: Bringing pride to the city, Wanowrie resident Deepak Sharma has won two gold medals at the Asian Bench Press Championship 2025, held in Hong Kong from October 8 to 12, 2025.
Deepak Sharma is a resident of Parmar Park Society in Wanowrie.
Sharma clinched gold in two categories — Classic Bench Press and Equipped Bench Press under the Master 2 division.
Team India delivered an outstanding performance at the championship, securing a total of 28 medals — 17 gold, 9 silver, and 2 bronze.
The Powerlifting India Federation extended heartfelt congratulations to all winners, participants, and the team officials, including Manager Jitender Singh and Coach-cum-Referee Vinod Sahu, for their exemplary efforts and contributions.
