Pune: Railway Station Sets Up High-Tech ‘War Room’ To Resolve Passenger Complaints
Pune Railways To Upgrade Manjari Station, Build New Ramtekdi Station To Improve Travel
Pune, November 4, 2025: To enhance passenger convenience and streamline station operations, the Pune Railway Division has established a 24×7 digital ‘War Room’ at the Pune Railway Station, one of India’s busiest transit hubs. Using advanced technology, this initiative aims to resolve passenger grievances within just 20 minutes, making crowd management and train coordination more efficient.
Every day, over 1.5 lakh passengers travel through Pune station, often facing challenges such as overcrowding, theft, and delayed grievance redressal. To address these issues, the railway administration has introduced the War Room system, designed to provide real-time solutions.
According to officials, the War Room will operate round the clock with a team of 10 trained staff members. Any complaint received—whether through digital platforms, helplines, or station staff—will be instantly forwarded to the relevant department through a centralized digital system. The goal is to ensure resolution within 20 minutes of registration.
Until now, passengers had to rely on the ‘Rail Madad’ app or the railway’s official X (Twitter) handle to lodge complaints, which often resulted in delays in communication and response. The new setup is expected to make the process faster, transparent, and more accountable.
During festivals and peak travel periods, when passenger numbers surge and special trains are introduced, the War Room will also help manage train schedules, control crowd flow, and prevent congestion.
Following the Indian Railways’ modernization guidelines, the Pune Division has implemented real-time tracking systems that alert passengers about train arrivals and platform changes in advance. Additional staff and security personnel are now deployed at crowded points to ensure safety and smooth operations.
With this initiative, the Pune Railway Division aims to create a digitally responsive, passenger-friendly model station, setting a new benchmark for railway management efficiency across the country.
