PUNE: Traffic on Sinhagad Road came to a standstill on Wednesday after a JCB machine broke down in the middle of the busy stretch, causing a two-kilometre-long queue of vehicles on the highway.

According to officials, the Sinhagad Road Traffic Police immediately initiated efforts to move the JCB to the side and restore smooth vehicular movement. However, commuters reported severe delays during peak hours.

Local residents complained that poor coordination between the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Pune City Traffic Police worsened the congestion, leaving hundreds of motorists stuck for a prolonged period.

At present, police teams are working to relocate the stalled JCB to a safer spot while simultaneously managing and clearing the traffic backlog.

Citizens insisted that all major authorities working in the city must have coordination while carrying out work to avoid such traffic congestion.
