Surat witnessed a tragic incident on Sunday morning when a 24-year-old woman from Ahmedabad suddenly collapsed during a college programme, ultimately losing her life. The shocking moment was captured on CCTV, which later circulated widely on social media, sparking grief and concern.
The deceased has been identified as Zeel Thakkar, originally from the Raipur area of Ahmedabad. The unfortunate event occurred while she was addressing an audience at Dharukawala College in Kapodra, where she was part of a programme organized by her company. Zeel, employed at an IT firm, had traveled from Ahmedabad to Surat to participate in the event.
Eyewitnesses described a scene of sudden panic as Zeel collapsed on stage mid-speech. People present rushed to her aid, attempting immediate medical assistance and quickly transporting her to a nearby hospital. Despite their prompt efforts, doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
CCTV footage shows Zeel standing on stage with other participants before she suddenly falls backward, with individuals on and below the stage rushing to help. The incident left attendees shocked and visibly distressed.

Kapodra Police have confirmed that Zeel was attending the seminar in her professional capacity, representing her IT company. They also stated that a post-mortem examination is underway, which will determine the exact cause of her death. Preliminary reports suggest that a heart attack could have been the reason for her sudden collapse.
