Fake Pune Metro Job Letters Exposed; MahaMetro Warns Citizens Against Recruitment Scams
Pune, December 02, 2025: Several young jobseekers who arrived to join duty at Pune Metro were left shocked after learning that the appointment letters they submitted were completely fake. The Pune Metro station administration confirmed that the documents presented by the candidates were forged, exposing yet another case of recruitment fraud operating in the city.
In response to the incident, the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro) has issued a public advisory urging citizens to stay alert and avoid contacting any unauthorized agents promising jobs in Pune Metro.
In an official statement posted on its X (Twitter) account, Pune Metro clarified:
“All Pune Metro job advertisements are published only on the official websites https://punemetrorail.org and https://mahametro.org. Recently, fake job ads and forged appointment letters have been circulated in the name of Pune Metro. Please stay alert and avoid such fraudulent activities.”
How The Scam Works
Fraudulent agents and groups circulate fake job advertisements through social media platforms and other channels. They lure candidates with promises of employment and then extract money under various pretexts—such as verification charges, uniform costs or training fees.
What Citizens Should Do
- Check Only Official Sources: All authentic Pune Metro job notifications are issued solely on MahaMetro’s official websites or major newspapers.
- No Payment Required: MahaMetro does not ask candidates for money via phone, WhatsApp or email for any recruitment process.
- Verify Before Trusting: If any job offer seems suspicious, citizens should contact the official Pune Metro office or helpline numbers for confirmation.
Authorities have urged jobseekers to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to recruitment scams.
