Dog Dispute Turns Violent at Wagholi’s VTP Cygnus Society; Fight Caught on Camera, Police Step In
Pune: A dispute over feeding stray dogs inside VTP Cygnus Society in Wagholi escalated into a physical altercation on Monday. The tension began after a small group of residents continued feeding and sheltering stray dogs in common areas, a practice strongly opposed by others.
According to report, several residents objected to feeding activities taking place inside the premises. The disagreement soon turned into a heated argument between two groups.
The confrontation intensified, leading to shouting and a brief scuffle. Video clips recorded by residents quickly circulated on social media, which further inflamed the situation.
A few residents recorded the incident on their phones, and the videos spread across social media within hours, adding to the tension inside the society.
Police later reached the spot to calm the situation. Officers counselled both sides and asked them to maintain peace while an inquiry is underway. They also advised the society management to set clear, written guidelines for pet care and use of common spaces to avoid future disputes.
