Pune, 19 December: A leopard was spotted again in Keshav Nagar early Friday morning, raising fresh concern among local residents. According to locals, the animal was seen around 4.55 am in the Kumbharwada area near the Renuka Mata temple.

Residents immediately informed the Forest Department and the local police. This is the second day in a row that a leopard has been seen in the area.

On Thursday morning, the leopard was reportedly spotted inside three housing societies in Keshav Nagar, following which forest officials began a search operation.

Forest Department officials said their teams are searching in and around Keshav Nagar. CCTV footage from nearby housing societies is being checked to track the leopard’s movement. A nearby drain with thick bushes has been identified as a possible hiding place, and trap cameras have been installed there.

Officials also said that thermal drones will be used in the evening to help locate the animal. Residents have been advised to stay alert, follow safety instructions, and avoid going out early in the morning or late at night.
