As New Year 2026 began, several devotees chose to welcome the occasion with prayers and acts of devotion. In a notable gesture, a couple from Faridabad, Haryana, offered a gold-and-diamond studded crown to Sai Baba at the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple on Thursday, January 1.

Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust CEO Goraksh Gadilkar, speaking to IANS, said the crown weighs around 650 grams and is valued at approximately ₹80 lakh. The crown is adorned with diamonds weighing nearly 150 carats, making it one of the significant offerings received by the temple in recent times.

The offering was made by Dr Pradeep Mohanty and his wife, Pratima Mohanty. The Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi, also shared a video of the couple along with the crown on its official Instagram handle.

Meanwhile, ahead of the New Year, Reliance Industries Limited Director Anant Ambani visited the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple on December 29 and offered prayers. During his visit, he donated ₹5 crore to the temple trust.

Confirming the donation, CEO Goraksh Gadilkar said that Anant Ambani performed Aarti at the temple and held discussions with trust officials regarding its ongoing charitable activities. He added that Ambani assured continued support for the trust’s charitable initiatives whenever required.
