Viral Video Shows Man Falling While Getting Off Moving Train at Anantapur Station, Safety Concerns Raised
An alarming incident at Anantapur railway station in Andhra Pradesh has caught widespread attention after a video surfaced showing a man falling while attempting to get off a moving train. The footage, which has gone viral on social media, has sparked discussions about safety around trains and public spaces.
According to the video shared on Instagram by Bijay Anand, the incident occurred at the Prashanti Express (train number 18464), which had only stopped for a brief period of 1–2 minutes. The man, seen wearing a Swiggy uniform, appeared to be stepping down from the train when he lost his balance and fell. It remains unclear whether he was on duty for a food delivery at the time or simply walking near the train.
The Instagram post highlighted the dangers of rushing near moving trains. “No delivery is worth a human life,” the caption read, though the circumstances around the fall are still uncertain.
Observers noted that the train, particularly in the 1st AC compartment where the incident reportedly occurred, has multiple doors. By the time the handover may have happened, the train had already begun moving. The man was seen with a bike and bag outside the station, possibly indicating ongoing errands, but his exact intent could not be verified.
The video quickly gained traction online, drawing over 1.3 million views within days and eliciting a wave of concern from viewers. Many expressed shock at the potential risks faced by individuals near moving trains, particularly those involved in delivery work.
Several users commented on the post, raising safety concerns. One user suggested, “This is a very serious safety issue. Customers should be clearly informed to collect their food from the train door or platform.” Another wrote, “So disturbing, hope he is okay,” while others urged authorities and companies to ensure proper compensation for any injuries sustained.
Some commenters also criticized the lack of clear instructions for customers ordering items to be delivered to moving trains, pointing out that such situations could endanger both delivery personnel and passengers.
While the video shows the man in a Swiggy shirt, it has not been confirmed whether he was actively delivering food at the moment of the fall. Nevertheless, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks faced by gig workers and the need for better safety measures around railway stations.
