Also known as Vitandgad, Tikona Fort gets its name from its distinct triangular shape. Located near Kamshet overlooking the Pawna region, the fort stands around 3,500 feet above sea level.

The trek is considered moderately easy and passes through scenic village routes and rocky stairways. At the summit, trekkers are rewarded with sweeping views of Pawna Lake and nearby forts.

Located around 20 kilometres from Lonavala, Korigad Fort is known for its intact fortification walls and wide plateau. Believed to predate the 1500s, the fort was later captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and incorporated into the Maratha Empire.

Korigad offers one of the easiest treks in the region, making it ideal for families and casual travellers. The fort features temples, lakes, old cannons, and long walking trails along the walls.

During monsoon, clouds drift across the fort while the surrounding valleys turn intensely green, creating postcard-like scenery.

Ghangad Fort – A Hidden Gem for Adventure Seekers

Located near Mulshi, around 35 kilometres from Lonavala, Ghangad Fort is ideal for trekkers looking to avoid crowded tourist spots.

Known for its rugged terrain and unique rock formations, the fort recently became more accessible after the installation of a steel ladder along the route. The trek passes through forests and rocky trails before opening up to panoramic views of Tailbaila cliffs and Mulshi backwaters.

Compared to popular forts like Lohagad and Rajmachi, Ghangad remains relatively unexplored and peaceful.

Rajmachi Fort – The Ultimate Trekking Experience

Rajmachi Fort is among the most scenic and historically important forts near Lonavala. The fort complex consists of two fortified peaks, Shrivardhan and Manaranjan, located deep within the Sahyadri ranges.
