Viral Video Linked to Pune Porsche Case Actually From 2023 Goa Anniversary Celebration, Claims Vishal Agarwal
Pune: A viral video circulating on social media and allegedly linked to the Pune Porsche crash case has sparked fresh controversy, with many users claiming it showed businessman Vishal Agarwal celebrating after being granted bail in the blood sample-swapping case. However, Agarwal and his family have denied the allegations, stating that the video is unrelated to the case and was recorded nearly two years ago.
In a clarification issued by the family, Vishal Agarwal, father of the minor accused in the 2024 Pune Porsche crash case, stated that the video was shot during his 25th wedding anniversary celebration held in Goa on September 2, 2023. He said the event took place several months before the fatal Porsche crash in Pune on May 19, 2024, and before any FIR was registered in the case.
The viral footage shows Agarwal dancing with family members and relatives at what appears to be a restaurant gathering. Guests can be seen cheering and clapping as he dances to the song “Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost” while wearing flower garlands and a garland made of currency notes. His wife and son are also seen participating in the celebration.
The video triggered widespread outrage online, with several social media users alleging that the family was celebrating after securing bail in the case linked to the alleged manipulation of blood samples during the investigation.
Responding to the controversy, the Agarwal family stated that the celebration had no connection whatsoever with the Pune Porsche crash case. They also alleged that private family videos were being circulated with misleading claims and announced plans to take legal action.
“We are pursuing legal recourse to determine who leaked our private videos to the media, which directly infringes upon our right to privacy guaranteed under the Constitution of India,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the viral video also drew criticism from the family of one of the crash victims. Suresh Koshta, father of deceased victim Ashwini Koshta, strongly condemned the celebrations and questioned the judicial process.
Speaking to ANI, Koshta alleged that the accused appeared to have no fear of the law and demanded stricter punishment in such cases. He also called for cancellation of bail granted to the accused and sought stronger action against those allegedly involved in tampering with evidence.
The Supreme Court had granted bail to Vishal Agarwal on March 10 in connection with the alleged blood sample-swapping case. The court noted that several co-accused had already been granted bail and observed that Agarwal had spent nearly 22 months in custody.
The Pune Porsche crash case dates back to May 19, 2024, when a Porsche allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy under the influence of alcohol rammed into a motorcycle in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area, killing two IT professionals. The incident triggered nationwide outrage and led to multiple investigations into allegations of evidence tampering and attempts to influence the probe.
