Pimpri Chinchwad, June 4, 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has reported a strong start to its property tax collection drive for the financial year 2026-27, collecting more than ₹289 crore between April 1 and June 4.

According to Deputy Commissioner of the Tax Assessment and Collection Department, Sachin Pawar, a total of 2,78,017 property owners have paid their property taxes so far, reflecting a positive response from citizens.

A notable trend this year has been the increasing preference for digital transactions. PCMC offers rebates to citizens who pay their property tax before June 30, with online taxpayers eligible for discounts of up to 10 percent.

As a result, 2,49,143 citizens have paid their taxes through online platforms and availed themselves of the rebate. These online transactions alone have contributed more than ₹265.86 crore to the corporation’s tax collection, highlighting the growing adoption of digital payment methods among residents.

The city currently has 7,44,630 registered properties, including residential, commercial, industrial, mixed-use properties and vacant plots. To ensure timely delivery of tax bills, the civic body undertook extensive planning and implemented a door-to-door distribution campaign through women’s self-help groups, helping property owners receive their tax assessments on time.

Meanwhile, PCMC has also intensified recovery efforts against tax defaulters. The civic administration has launched a pre-seizure notice campaign and has already issued notices to more than 35,000 defaulting property owners. Officials have urged taxpayers with pending dues to clear their outstanding taxes promptly to avoid further administrative action.

The municipal corporation continues to offer several concessions for specific categories of taxpayers. These include rebates for residential properties owned solely by women, properties owned by persons with disabilities, and housing societies implementing environmentally sustainable initiatives.

Women owning a single residential property in their name are eligible for a rebate of up to 30 percent, and citizens have been encouraged to take advantage of the available benefits.

PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi said that property tax remains a crucial source of revenue for the city’s development and helps fund infrastructure projects, road improvements, sanitation services, water supply and other civic amenities.

He urged citizens to pay their taxes before the June 30 deadline and benefit from the available concessions.

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Pawar added that the number of citizens opting for online tax payments has increased significantly this year, contributing to greater transparency and convenience in municipal services. He appealed to taxpayers not to wait until the last date and to complete their payments at the earliest to avail themselves of the rebates.
