Pune, June 24, 2026: A series of vehicle breakdowns at multiple locations along the Pune-Solapur Road led to major traffic congestion on Wednesday, prompting an extensive response from the Wanowrie Traffic Division to clear the affected stretch and restore normal traffic flow.

According to Police Sub-Inspector Atul Kshirsagar of the Wanowrie Traffic Department, a truck (KA 56 3627) heading towards Hadapsar crashed into a divider beyond Fatimanagar Chowk and broke down. The vehicle was removed with the assistance of two Hydra cranes.

A PMPML bus (MH 12 RN 9345) also broke down near Bhairobanala Chowk and was shifted to the roadside to ease congestion. Another major disruption occurred at Ramtekdi Chowk, where a petrol tanker (MH 42 XM 9015) travelling towards Pune suffered a breakdown and was removed using a Hydra crane.

In addition, two PMPML buses (MH 12 YB 2035) broke down on the Hadapsar-to-Pune route and were subsequently moved aside. At Jagtap Chowk, another PMPML bus (MH 12 TV 5980) developed a mechanical fault and was cleared from the carriageway.

Further traffic disruptions were reported when an MSRTC bus (MH 14 BT 4775) suffered a gearbox failure on the Ramtekdi Bridge and had to be parked on one side of the road. Another MSRTC bus (MH 14 BT 5002) broke down near Sopan Baug Chowk and was also removed.

A four-wheeler tempo (MH 12 VF 4295) broke down near Fatimanagar, while a PMPML bus (MH 12 XM 6282) stalled at Sopan Baug Chowk. Both vehicles were shifted off the main road.

An MG Hector car broke down between Fatimanagar Chowk and Bhairavnath Chowk. A minor collision involving two four-wheelers was also reported in the area; however, no injuries were sustained by any of the occupants.

Another vehicle (MH 08 Z 6878) broke down while travelling from Fatimanagar towards Bhairobanala and was removed promptly.

Traffic police officials worked throughout the day to clear the stranded vehicles and manage congestion. Following the coordinated efforts, normal traffic movement was restored on the affected stretches.

Police Sub-Inspector Atul Kshirsagar said the timely removal of the stalled vehicles helped prevent prolonged disruption on one of Pune’s busiest traffic corridors.
