Pune, June 24, 2026: What was initially believed to be a tragic trekking accident at Lohagad Fort near Pune has now emerged as a chilling murder case. Police investigations revealed that 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal was allegedly pushed into a gorge by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, in a premeditated plot to kill him.
Ketan had gone trekking to Lohagad Fort on June 18 with Siya, with whom he was engaged and scheduled to marry later this year. According to investigators, the couple’s families had made elaborate wedding arrangements, including booking a palace in Rajasthan worth approximately ₹17 crore and arranging two private aircraft for guests.
Following the incident, Siya reportedly informed police that Ketan had accidentally slipped and fallen into the gorge while posing for photographs. However, further investigation uncovered inconsistencies in her statement. Police later concluded that Siya and Chetan allegedly pushed Ketan into the valley and attempted to portray the death as an accident.
Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary have since been arrested and charged in connection with the murder.
Who Was Ketan Agarwal?
Ketan Agarwal was a Pune-based entrepreneur and business executive associated with his family’s real estate enterprise, Success Group, where he served as Director and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
He held a Master of Science degree in Entrepreneurship from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Symbiosis University.
According to his professional profile, Ketan was deeply interested in sustainability and innovation, focusing on projects that promoted economic development while contributing to environmentally responsible growth.
