Pune Crime: Woman Killed After Husband Allegedly Attacks Her With Gas Cylinder in Kharadi
Pune, 24 June, 2026: A domestic dispute in Pune’s Kharadi area allegedly turned deadly when a woman was fatally attacked by her husband with a small gas cylinder. The accused reportedly fled the scene after the incident, prompting police to launch a manhunt.
The victim, identified as Kiran Babar, aged around 30 to 32 years, was living in Kharadi with her husband, Jayram Babar. The couple, originally from Madhya Pradesh, had moved to Pune in search of employment.
Police said the couple lived in a labour camp and worked on a waste collection vehicle. The incident reportedly took place around midnight on Tuesday following an argument over a minor matter.
According to investigators, the disagreement quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. In a fit of rage, Jayram allegedly struck Kiran on the head with a small domestic gas cylinder. The blow caused severe head injuries and heavy bleeding, leading to her death at the spot.
After being alerted about the incident, Kharadi police immediately reached the location and carried out a preliminary investigation. The victim’s body was later sent for a post-mortem examination.
Police officials said the accused escaped soon after the incident. Special teams have been formed to trace and arrest him. Authorities are in the process of registering a murder case, and further investigations are underway.
The shocking incident has left local residents disturbed and once again drawn attention to the serious consequences of domestic disputes that escalate into violence.
