Pune: Mother, Teenage Daughter and 10-Year-Old Son Found Dead in Tathawade; Suicide Suspected
Pimpri-Chinchwad, June 24, 2026: A shocking incident has come to light in the Tathawade area of Pimpri-Chinchwad, where the bodies of a woman and her two children were found inside their residence near G.G. International School on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Kalpana Bipin Suryawanshi (35), her daughter Shubhashree Bipin Suryawanshi (17), and her son Dadu Bipin Suryawanshi (10).
According to preliminary investigations, police suspect that the woman may have mixed poison into food, causing the deaths of her two children before taking her own life. Officials believe financial distress could have been a possible reason behind the extreme step, though the exact circumstances are still under investigation.
After receiving information about the incident, Wakad Police rushed to the spot and conducted a panchnama. The bodies have been sent to YCM Hospital for post-mortem examination.
A case of accidental death has been registered at Wakad Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
Police Inspector Ashok Kadlag of Wakad Police Station said that the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report and further inquiry.
