Pune: Golf Balls Landing On Roads, Vehicles; FIR Sought Against Yerwada Golf Club
Pune, June 27, 2026: Pune Panther Sena has demanded criminal action against the management of the Yerwada Golf Club, alleging that golf balls frequently fly out of the course and pose a serious threat to motorists and residents in the surrounding area.
In a press statement, Pune Panther Sena President Sachin Bhosale claimed that golf balls struck during play have been landing on public roads, residential areas and passing vehicles, creating a significant safety risk. He said a recent incident was captured on a car’s dashcam, which allegedly shows a golf ball flying out of the golf course.
According to the statement, local resident Balraj Singh has filed a complaint at the Yerawada Police Station regarding the incident. Bhosale also alleged that a similar incident had previously occurred in which his brother was hit by a golf ball, indicating that such occurrences are recurring.
Speaking on the issue, Bhosale said golf balls are extremely hard and can cause serious injuries if they strike a person’s head or body. He warned that such incidents could even prove fatal and urged the authorities not to ignore what he described as a serious public safety concern.
The organisation has demanded that the golf club immediately install high safety nets around the entire course to prevent balls from leaving the premises. It has also called for the temporary suspension of golfing activities until the necessary safety measures are put in place.
In addition, Pune Panther Sena has sought the registration of a criminal case against the golf club management for allegedly endangering public safety.
Bhosale warned that if immediate action is not taken, the organisation will launch a democratic agitation to press for the safety of citizens.
