A video allegedly showing a prominent builder driving his SUV towards a group of protesting flat owners in Kharghar has gone viral, drawing widespread attention on social media.

The incident reportedly occurred at a residential complex in Sector 35, where residents have been facing a prolonged water shortage. According to residents, despite paying crores of rupees for their homes, they continue to depend on water tankers arranged by the developer due to an inadequate water supply.

Residents alleged that the tanker supply has failed to meet the daily needs of hundreds of families, leading to growing frustration and repeated demands for a permanent solution.

Earlier in the day, a group of women residents reportedly visited the builder’s office seeking answers about the ongoing water crisis. However, they claimed the builder did not meet them and later left the premises with his security personnel.

As the builder’s SUV exited the area, five women and several other residents followed the vehicle, demanding a response. A video of the incident appears to show the SUV moving towards the protesters, forcing them to step aside. No injuries have been reported.

The footage has since gone viral, sparking widespread discussion online.

Local Congress leader Dr. Swapnil Pawar confirmed that the incident took place and said many affected residents were hesitant to speak publicly about the issue.

Meanwhile, corporator Haresh Keni said a meeting has been scheduled with residents to assess the severity of the water shortage and discuss possible solutions.

“We will provide further updates after meeting the residents facing the water crisis,” Keni said.

The allegations against the builder have not been independently verified, and no official response from the builder was immediately available.
