The pre-positioning of teams has been undertaken after careful assessment of the geographical vulnerability of the region, historical disaster patterns, and weather forecasts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

He emphasized that tactical pre-positioning of NDRF teams significantly reduces response time during emergencies, enabling timely rescue, evacuation, and relief operations in the event of floods, landslides, urban flooding, building collapses, and other monsoon-related incidents.

Each deployed team is equipped with specialized search and rescue equipment, flood rescue resources, communication systems, and trained personnel capable of responding to a wide range of disaster situations. The teams remain in close coordination with the respective District Administrations, State Disaster Management Authorities, and other stakeholder agencies to ensure an effective and coordinated response.

S B Singh further reiterated that NDRF remains fully prepared to respond to both natural and man-made disasters and is committed to safeguarding lives and minimizing the impact of disasters through timely intervention, professional response, and close coordination with all concerned agencies.
