Pune: BJP MLA Sunil Kamble Alleges Rs 100 Crore Scam In Kothrud SRA Project, Seeks Probe
Pune, July 5, 2026: BJP MLA Sunil Kamble has alleged a Rs 100 crore scam in the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) project at Kothrud, claiming that bogus beneficiaries were created with the alleged support of government officials to illegally obtain Transferable Development Rights (TDR).
Addressing the issue, Kamble claimed that although only 37 hutments actually existed at the project site, official records allegedly showed 160 structures. He alleged that the inflated figures enabled the developer to secure undue TDR benefits.
The legislator further alleged that fake electricity bills and ration cards were used to fabricate beneficiary records, facilitating the fraudulent allocation of rehabilitation benefits and the illegal generation of TDR.
Describing the matter as a large-scale fraud, Kamble claimed that the alleged irregularities were carried out in connivance with government officials, resulting in significant financial losses to the state exchequer while depriving genuine beneficiaries of their rightful entitlements.
Kamble has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the alleged scam and called for criminal as well as departmental action against the officials concerned, the developer, and all others found responsible. He also urged the authorities to introduce stricter safeguards to ensure transparency and prevent similar irregularities in future SRA projects.
