Pune, July 11, 2026: The Pune district administration has announced extensive traffic diversions and road closures on the Pune–Pandharpur Highway to ensure the smooth and safe passage of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi during the Ashadhi Wari 2026.

After a two-day halt in Pune, the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi has proceeded towards Saswad via the challenging Dive Ghat route, while the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi has departed towards Loni Kalbhor. To facilitate the movement of lakhs of Warkaris, major traffic changes have been implemented across Pune and adjoining areas.

In view of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Sohala 2026, temporary traffic restrictions have been imposed on National Highway No. 965 (Pune–Pandharpur/Pune–Baramati Road) from July 10 to July 15. Pune District Collector and District Magistrate Jitendra Dudi has issued a notification under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, introducing temporary traffic regulations to ensure smooth vehicular movement and the safety of pilgrims. Motorists have been urged to use the designated alternate routes during this period.

Traffic Diversions and Alternate Routes

Jejuri Police Station (Pune Rural) – Belsar Phata

  • July 10, 8 pm to July 13, 5 pm: Traffic coming towards Pune from Baramati, Phaltan and Satara will remain completely closed. Vehicles will be diverted via Belsar Phata – Waghapur Chowk – Uruli Kanchan – Pune.
  • July 13, 5 pm to July 14, 10 pm: Traffic heading towards Jejuri, Satara, Phaltan, Lonand and Baramati will be diverted through Belsar – Nazare – Kala Odha – Morgaon – Nira – Lonand – Satara.

Morgaon Chowk, Jejuri

  • July 10, 8 pm to July 12, 10 pm: Except Palkhi vehicles, all vehicles travelling towards Pune via Nira will be diverted through Jejuri – Morgaon – Supa – Kedgaon Chaufulla – Pune.
  • July 14, 1 pm to July 15, 10 pm: Vehicles travelling from Pune via Saswad towards Lonand, Satara and Phaltan, except Palkhi vehicles, will be diverted through Jejuri – Morgaon – Loni Bhapkar Phata – Korhale – Phaltan.

Bhorwadi Phata, Jejuri

  • July 14, 1 pm to July 15, 10 pm: Vehicles travelling from Pune via Saswad towards Lonand, Satara and Phaltan, except Palkhi vehicles, will be diverted via Kolvihire – Morgaon Road – Morgaon – Loni Bhapkar Phata – Korhale – Phaltan.

Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Chowk, Nira

  • July 10, 8 pm to July 15, 11 pm: Traffic travelling from Satara, Phaltan and Lonand towards Pune via Jejuri and Saswad will remain completely closed and will be diverted through Nira – Morgaon – Supa – Kedgaon Chaufulla – Pune.

Belsar Village – Kothale Chowk

  • July 10, 8 pm to July 13, 5 am: No traffic will be allowed from Kothale Chowk towards Saswad.
  • July 13, 5 am to July 14, 11 pm: Traffic heading towards Satara, Phaltan and Lonand via Jejuri will remain closed and will be diverted through Belsar – Kothale Chowk – Kothale Village – Nazare – Kala Odha – Morgaon, or via Nazare – Pandeshwar – Supa – Morgaon.

Pargaon Memane Chowk, Jejuri

  • July 12, 5 am to July 14, 11 pm: Traffic heading towards Satara, Phaltan and Lonand via Jejuri will remain completely closed and diverted through Belsar – Kothale Chowk – Kothale Village – Nazare – Kala Odha – Morgaon, or via Nazare – Pandeshwar – Supa – Morgaon.

Supa Police Station – Morgaon

  • July 13, 5 am to July 15, 11 pm: Traffic travelling from Nira towards Pune via Jejuri will remain completely closed and will be diverted through Morgaon – Supa – Kedgaon Chaufulla – Solapur Highway – Pune.

Vadgaon Nimbalkar Police Station (Pune Rural)

  • July 14, 5 am to July 15, 11 pm: Traffic travelling from Baramati towards Lonand via Nira will remain closed and diverted through Nimbut – Murum – Kalaj – Lonand.

Saswad Police Station (Pune Rural) – Jejuri Naka, Saswad

  1. July 13, 5 am to July 15, 11 pm: Traffic travelling from Pune towards Satara and Phaltan via Jejuri will remain completely closed and diverted through either:
    • Saswad – Narayanpur – Kapurhol – Satara/Phaltan, or
    • Saswad – Veer Phata – Parinche – Veer – Wathar Colony – Lonand.
  2. July 13, 5 am to July 14, 11 pm: Traffic travelling from Pune towards Baramati via Jejuri will remain completely closed and diverted through Saswad – Pargaon Memane – Pisarve – Supa – Baramati.

The district administration has appealed to motorists to cooperate with the traffic restrictions, follow the designated diversion routes, and plan their journeys in advance to avoid delays during the Ashadhi Wari procession.
