Pune: PMC Conducts Joint Inspection In Hadapsar–Manjari Ahead Of Metro Work
Pune, July 21, 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Tuesday carried out a joint on-site inspection in Ward No. 17 (Hadapsar–Manjari) to review traffic congestion, encroachments, and other civic infrastructure issues ahead of the commencement of the proposed Metro project in the area.
The inspection was undertaken to assess existing challenges and formulate measures to minimise inconvenience to residents during the upcoming Metro construction. Civic officials said the exercise was aimed at ensuring better coordination among various departments for smooth implementation of development works.
According to PMC, the inspection was prompted by repeated complaints and suggestions received from local residents and public representatives regarding traffic bottlenecks, encroachments, and delays in civic infrastructure development.
Officials from multiple civic departments jointly inspected key roads, traffic management systems, encroachments, public infrastructure, and proposed development sites. During the visit, instructions were issued to the concerned departments to initiate necessary corrective measures on priority.
The inspection was attended by Standing Committee Chairman Shrinath Bhimale, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Development) Omprakash Divte, Maha Metro Senior Deputy General Manager Ashutosh Jha, Hadapsar–Manjari Ward Committee Chairman Prashant Tupe, along with elected representatives Dr. Dada Kodre, Ajit Ghule, Sarita Ghule, Payal Tupe, Nandatai Abanave, and Maruti Tupe.
Senior civic officials, including Deputy Commissioner (Zone 4) Arvind Mali, Deputy Commissioner (Land Acquisition) Nikhil More, Deputy Commissioner (Encroachment) Somnath Bankar, Deputy Commissioner (Property) Prashant Thombre, Superintending Engineer (Road Department) Ajay Vayase, and Assistant Municipal Commissioner Kunal Dhumal, were also present during the inspection.
PMC officials said coordinated action would be taken to improve civic amenities in the locality and ensure that traffic management, encroachment removal, and infrastructure development are carried out efficiently. Special emphasis will be placed on inter-departmental coordination to minimise disruption to residents during the execution of the Metro project.
The civic administration reiterated its commitment to addressing long-pending civic issues in the Hadapsar–Manjari area while ensuring that the Metro project progresses with minimal inconvenience to the public.
