Pune Police Nab Juvenile, Recover 3 Stolen Bikes, Auto-Rickshaw And Mobile Worth ₹4.5 Lakh
Pune, July 21, 2026: The Kalepadal Police’s investigation team has detained a juvenile in conflict with the law and recovered three stolen motorcycles, an auto-rickshaw and a mobile phone collectively valued at ₹4.5 lakh, in a major breakthrough in multiple vehicle theft cases.
The action was taken during the investigation of Crime No. 292/2026, registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, relating to the theft of a motorcycle.
Under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Girisha Nimbalkar, Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete and the Kalepadal Police investigation team analysed CCTV footage and gathered intelligence to trace the stolen vehicle.
During the investigation, Police Constable Shahid Shaikh and Police Naik Atul Pandharkar received a tip-off from an informant that the stolen motorcycle was in the possession of a suspect waiting near Hillgreen School Road in Undri.
Acting swiftly, the police team reached the spot and detained the juvenile along with the stolen motorcycle. During interrogation, the juvenile confessed to stealing vehicles from different parts of Pune and led the police to the recovery of additional stolen property.
The recovered items include:
- One Honda Dream Yuga motorcycle (MH-12-KU-6431)
- One Honda Activa scooter (MH-12-VR-6474)
- One Hero Splendor motorcycle (MH-12-JR-9663)
- One auto-rickshaw (MH-14-GC-7126)
- One Oppo mobile phone
The total value of the recovered property is estimated at ₹4,50,000.
According to police, the recovered vehicles and mobile phone are linked to multiple theft cases registered at Kalepadal Police Station, Kondhwa Police Station, and Rajgad Police Station.
Further investigation is being carried out by Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete to determine whether the juvenile was involved in additional vehicle thefts.
The successful operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 6) Jeevan Beniwal, Assistant Commissioner of Police Atul Navgire (Hadapsar Division), and Senior Police Inspector Girisha Nimbalkar. The investigation team included API Amit Shete, PSI Rajas Shaikh, Police Constables Pravin Kalbhor, Amol Phadtare, Nilesh Desai, Daud Sayyed, Pratik Lahigude, Shahid Shaikh, Vishal Thombre, Laxman Kale, Atul Pandharkar, Nitin Dhole, Saddam Tamboli, Pradeep Bediskar, Mahadev Shinde, and Giriraj Jagdale.
