Pune Father-Daughter Complete 220 km Cycle Wari; Spread AI Awareness In Pandharpur
Pune, 21 July, 2026: Pune-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) trainer and educationist Rahul Shah and his 16-year-old daughter Aneri Shah successfully completed a 220-kilometre Father-Daughter Cycle Wari to Pandharpur over two days. The journey marked Rahul Shah’s seventh Cycle Wari and was the first-ever Cycle Wari to Pandharpur undertaken by the father and daughter together.
Aneri’s passion for cycling began at a very young age. She completed her first Cycle Wari at the age of nine and has since explored numerous destinations across India on her bicycle. Exploring new places, meeting people, and experiencing different cultures through cycling has become an integral part of her personality. This Father-Daughter Cycle Wari added another memorable chapter to her cycling journey.
The pilgrimage commenced from Pune on 16 July 2026 and concluded with the darshan of Lord Vitthal in Pandharpur on 17 July 2026. After completing the first day’s ride, the duo halted at Phaltan, where they were warmly hosted by Rahul Shah’s maternal uncle, Shri Manikant Shah, before resuming their journey the following morning.
This journey was much more than a spiritual pilgrimage. Upon reaching Pandharpur, Rahul Shah conducted an Artificial Intelligence Awareness Session for around 50 teachers at D. H. K. School, Pandharpur, located near the railway line. The session focused on the practical applications of AI in education and how teachers can effectively integrate AI into classroom teaching and learning.
The journey also tested their endurance. Near Supa, one of the bicycles developed a disc brake problem. However, on learning that they were cycling to Pandharpur for Lord Vitthal’s darshan, a local mechanic repaired the bicycle and graciously refused to accept any payment. They also visited an organic dragon fruit farm, interacted with a local woman farmer, and enjoyed freshly harvested fruits. Throughout the journey, the kindness and generosity of strangers reinforced the belief that the spirit of the Wari extends far beyond the destination.
After reaching Pandharpur, Rahul and Aneri celebrated the successful completion of their journey by joyfully playing Fugadi, symbolising the happiness, gratitude and sense of achievement that followed two days of determination and teamwork.
Speaking after completing the journey, Rahul Shah said, “This Cycle Wari was much more than a cycling expedition. It strengthened the bond between father and daughter, provided an opportunity to promote AI awareness in education, and blessed us with the opportunity to seek Lord Vitthal’s blessings. Above all, the kindness shown by people throughout the journey reaffirmed our faith in humanity.”
Combining devotion, education, perseverance, family bonding and social awareness, Rahul Shah and Aneri Shah’s Father-Daughter Cycle Wari stands as an inspiring example of how meaningful journeys can create lasting memories while contributing positively to society.
