While talking about the move the strengthen the department with fit bands and bicycles, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said, “Pimpri Chinchwad is one of the promising, smart and fast developing cities in Maharashtra. I have a very close bond with this city. However, I also share a very close bond with the city Police who were at forefront during initial phase of COVID, when the situation seemed far from control. There was atmosphere of fear, but our Maharashtra Police bravely confronted the crisis; some of the officials even lost their lives. I want to make sure that along with city being smart, the Police department, too, should become smart.”
