Ajit Sane has confirmed that he did not go through any side effects after taking the jab, but his wife who is a diabetes patient, had suffered from mild fever post vaccine jab. In the span of four days post vaccination, the couple got back to the track. While talking to Pune Pulse, he said, “I did not suffer any such complications post vaccination. But my wife did, although she was doing good after a few days.”

Santoshi Marathe, another resident who enrolled first among the four residents from Bavdhan after learning the requirement for volunteers through a newspaper advertisement, had received rashes on her body, and mild fever, too, but after a few days, she too, got better. She said, “As far as my understanding, COVID is a life threatening virus, and hence the vaccine, too, should be strong enough to counter the virus. I had enrolled it personally, after seeing an ad in a newspaper. My experience was good, and I request youngsters to go ahead without a second thought. I am not sure about those who have some or other medical complications. They should get counselling from the certain vaccination officer and the designated doctors.”

Pune Pulse also reached out to Rajendra Wabale, dean of the YCM Hospital in Pimpri, who took the first ever jab in the vaccine drive in the hospital, said, “I remember how being a child when I was given a vaccine, I got fever the next day, which meant that vaccine is working in your body. If the vaccine does not produce any reaction, then it is less effective against a life threatening virus.” He further said, “I did get mild fever and body ache on the second day post vaccine jab, but later I recovered from it. The vaccine carries antigen, which does react when it faces challenges in the body. Till date, we have received no extreme complications in YCM post a vaccine jab.”
